The Kitschies are hosting a Steampunk Evening at Blackwell's Charing Cross.
It promises to be a fun and unusual event, as we're setting out to explore all that's intelligent, progressive and entertaining in one of fantastic fiction's most popular sub-genres. The night is set up as an exhibition and there will be loads to do, see, hear, play with and sample (including tastings of The Kraken Rum).
Plus, there will be opportunities to chat with some amazing authors and artists, including Adam Roberts, China Miéville, Kim Lakin-Smith, Deadly Knitshade, Gary Northfield, Jonathan Green, Philip Reeve, Lavie Tidhar, Nicola Tedman, Sarah Skeate and the artwork of (Now that would be) Telling. Also, this guy.
The event takes place on 8 December, 7 pm - 9 pm, at Blackwell's Charing Cross, 100 Charing Cross Road. Entry is free and there's no ticket required. If you would like to RSVP, you can do so on the event's Facebook page. (RSVPing makes sure we have enough of The Kraken Rum for everyone. How's that for an incentive?)
Films of High Adventure: Dune"The pug, however, is the best. A bravura performance. So much so that I want a retelling of Dune from the pug’s point of view, à la Roger Zelazny’s A Night in the Lonesome October."
Shhhhh! It's a secret One Comicrossovers don’t get much bigger than this. The Marvel multiverse faces destruction and the only two Earths left are too busy fighting each other to do anything about it....
Pygmalia: Galatea"She will become your creation the longer you engage her, putting you in the Pygmalion position, which can be just as uncomfortable as her pedestal..."
