"Original art titled, The King in Yellow, by author and illustrator Robert W. Chambers (1865- 1933). No date, circa 1895. Watercolor and ink on paper and tipped to heavy board. The artwork depicts a spectral, demonic winged figure looking out over an eerie landscape and is a hallmark of the late 19th century fantasy illustration. It has had minor restoration done at the board corners and missing letters “O” and “W” were added by hand with watercolor and colored pencil. Signed 'R. W. Chambers' at the right. From the collection of Forrest J. Ackerman."
